We will collaboratively engage in conversations and activities that are grounded in a learning-centred, evidence-based approach which focuses on students’ learning as well as your own. Specifically, you will draw upon scholarly literature to lead an initiative of your interest, participate in a learning community, and gather evidence of learning and growth. Activities incorporate the flexibility to ensure that this course best meets your current teaching and learning needs. By the end of the program, you will lead and evaluate a new or existing initiative that helps others to strengthen their teaching and learning practices. Our approach
In this course we strive to create and sustain a learning community among participants by combining face to face and online learning activities in a blended format. The course is set up as a block week face to face intensive with opportunities to meet one another, engage in discussion and form a learning community. This intensive is followed by self-directed learning to implement and engage in educational leadership and mentorship activities. All course requirements will be supported by online activities such as discussions, giving and receiving peer feedback, accessing resources, and reflection. In order to successfully achieve the learning outcomes for the course, attention to both the block week and self-directed activities and assessments are necessary.
